Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a hit-and-run in Co Kildare which has left a man in his 30s in hospital.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a hit-and-run in Co Kildare which has left a man in his 30s in hospital.

The incident happened at 12.05am this morning when gardaí at Naas Garda Station said they received a report of a traffic collision outside Johnstown Garden Centre, Kerdiffstown Road, just off the N7 at Johnstown, Co. Kildare.

When Gardaí arrived they found a man in his 30s being treated by the ambulance services and he had received injuries to his body.

The injured man was brought to Naas General Hospital and he has been subsequently transferred to Tallaght Hospital.

Gardaí subsequently sealed of the scene on the Kerdiffstown Road and a technical examination of the area has been carried out.

Investigating gardaí believe that the injured party was hit by a vehicle that failed to remain at the scene.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Naas Garda Station on 045-884300.
