A man has been injured in a shooting in Co Kerry overnight.

A man has been injured in a shooting in Co Kerry overnight.

It happened in Beaufort near Killarney at about 1.20am.

The victim, a 31-year-old man, suffered gunshot wounds to the right side of his body and was taken to Kerry General Hospital. His injuries aren't belived to be life-threatening.

Gardaí have arrested a 48-year-old man. He is being questioned at Killarney Garda Station, where he can be held for up to three days.
