Gardaí are investigating a shooting that occurred in Ballyfermot, Dublin shortly after 10pm tonight.

Gardaí are investigating a shooting that occurred in Ballyfermot, Dublin shortly after 10pm tonight.

A 19-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to his leg during the incident at Le Fanu Drive, Ballyfermot.

He was treated at the scene by emergency services personnel and taken to St James’s Hospital by ambulance. His condition is not thought to be life threatening.

No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing. The scene is preserved for a technical and forensic examination.
