Gardaí in Dublin are investigating a serious assault on Camden Street in the early hours of this morning.

Gardaí in Dublin are investigating a serious assault on Camden Street in the early hours of this morning.

A French man, believed to be in his 20s, was taken to St James's Hospital with a head injury.

It happened shortly after 4am, when the man and two of his friends, were involved in a row with three men, believed to be in their 20's.

The three suspects left the scene in the direction of Rathmines.

The scene has been sealed off for a forensic examination.

Anyone who was in the Camden Street area between 4am and 5am is asked to contact Kevin Street Garda Station.
