Man in serious condition after Meath explosion

A man is in a serious condition in hospital following a gas explosion in Co Meath last night.

The blast happened at the back of a restaurant on Emmett Street in Trim at about 11.20pm.

The man injured is an employee at the premises. He is being treated Our Lady of Lourdes hospital in Navan.

The scene of the blast has been preserved for a full technical examination today, while the health and safety authority has also been notified.
