A 19-year-old man is in a serious condition in hospital following a drive-by shooting in the Donaghmede area of Dublin last night.

A 19-year-old man is in a serious condition in hospital following a drive-by shooting in the Donaghmede area of Dublin last night.

The victim was sitting in a van on Grangemore Drive at around 8.30pm when he was shot several times by a gunman travelling in a passing car.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the shooting to come forward with any information they may have.

The motive is unclear, but the incident bore all the hallmarks of a gangland attack.
