Gardai are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the Naas Road at approximately 6.20am this morning.
A male in his 20s was fatally injured when the 4x4 vehicle he was driving and sole occupant collided with the barrier.
He was taken to Tallaght Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
There were no other vehicles involved in the collision and the man was travelling alone.
The incident took place on the N7 outbound near Junction 2 at Kingswood.
The road was closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and has since reopened.

It is understood one person has been seriously injured in a crash in Dublin this morning.
Emergency services are currently dealing with the incident that happened on the Naas Road at around 6.30am.
Commuters are facing major traffic delays with tailbacks being reported at Newlands Cross.
Road closures and diversions are in place.

A number of emergency service units are attending the scene of a serious crash in Dublin this morning.
The accident happened on the Naas Road and the road is closed to outbound traffic past Junction 2 Kingswood.
Traffic is being asked to take alternative routes.
It is understood the accident happened shortly after 6.30 am this morning.
