A 27-year-old man has appeared in court today charged with the murder of Gerard Donnelly, who was burned to death in the Phoenix Park.
Ciaran Moran, last living in Camden Hall, Camden Street in Dublin, has been remanded in custody to appear at Cloverhall District Court.
Mr Moran had a visible head wound as he appeared in court this morning wearing black tracksuit bottoms and a grey sweatshirt.
Det Sgt Thomas Lynch gave evidence the 27-year-old was charged just before midnight with the murder of Mr Donnelly on or about last Friday at Wellington Road in the Phoenix Park.
The court heard he made no reply to the charge.
Defence solicitor Andrew Vallely applied for legal aid and he requested that his client would continue to receive medical attention while he is in custody.
Judge Ann Ryan agreed to make that recommendation and she remanded Ciaran Moran for a week.
Gardaí are continuing to question a 20-year-old man and a 17-year-old female in connection with the murder.
