Man hospitalised after shooting in Dublin pub

Gardai are examining CCTV footage taken from inside a south Dublin pub as part of their investigation into a shooting overnight.

A doorman is recovering in hospital after being shot during the attack, which all happened in the space of a few chaotic minutes inside the Sallynoggin Inn at around 1am this morning.

The gunman had been drinking at the south Dublin pub, and it is understood he opened fire at a group who were dancing in the bar.

He quickly fled the scene but fired one more shot back towards the pub as he left, hitting a security worker in the stomach.

The 45-year-old doorman was rushed to St. Vincent's Hospital where his injuries are described as non-life threatening.

The gunman is still at large but Gardaí have harvested CCTV footage from both inside and outside the pub in the hope of identifying him.

In the meantime, anyone with information is asked to contact Dun Laoghaire Garda Station or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
