A man is due before the Criminal Courts charged in connection with a traffic accident which killed a 62-year-old cyclist.

A man is due before the Criminal Courts charged in connection with a traffic accident which killed a 62-year-old cyclist.

The cyclist was seriously injured when he was struck by a car on the Clontarf road at the junction with Howth Road at about 6.30pm on June 30.

He was taken by ambulance to Beaumont Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Gardaí recovered a silver Volkswagen Golf a short time later in Marino.

A man in his 20s is due to appear in court this morning in connection with the death.
