Man drowns in Cavan
A 26-year-old man has died after he got into difficulty while swimming in a lake in Co Cavan.
The man was with friends at Knocknagarton near Virginia at about 10pm last night when he got into trouble.
His friends brought him ashore, and he was taken by ambulance to Cavan General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead later.
A post mortem examination will be carried out later today.
