Gardaí in Tipperary have confirmed a man has died in a housefire overnight in Kilmaconna in Clonmel.

Gardaí in Tipperary have confirmed a man has died in a housefire overnight in Kilmaconna in Clonmel.

The victim's age remains unknown.

The cause of the fire at the house off the Dungarvan Road is not thought to be suspicious.

A neighbour of the dead man is understood to have called the fire brigade to the scene shortly after 4am today.

Two fire crews and one tanker attended the blaze.
