Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a single car collision in Co. Tipperary yesterday, which claimed the life of a man in his 60's.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a single car collision in Co. Tipperary yesterday, which claimed the life of a man in his 60's.

The incident occurred shortly after 4pm yesterday on the M8 motorway, northbound near Junction 7 Cahir, when a car left the motorway before colliding with a ditch.

The driver of the car, a male aged in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A male passenger aged in his 20's was taken by ambulance to Clonmel Hospital and his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
