Man dies in road traffic collision in Dublin

Gardaí at Ronanstown Garda Station are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred at the Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, Clondalkin at approximately 3.45pm today.

Gardaí at Ronanstown Garda Station are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred at the Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, Clondalkin at approximately 3.45pm today.

A male in his 70’s, who was the only occupant of the car, was fatally injured when the car he was driving struck a service gate at the Liffey Valley Shopping Centre. He was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown and pronounced dead a short time later.

The scene of the collision was sealed off to facilitate a Garda forensic collision examination but has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Ronanstown Garda Station on 01-666 7700, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
