A man has died following a shooting in Dublin.

Man dies in hospital following Finglas shooting

A man has died following a shooting in Dublin.

The incident happened on the Ballycoolin Road in Finglas shortly at around 5 o'clock this evening.

It is believed the man was in his 40s.

He was taken to the Connolly Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Gardaí are at the scene and the area has been sealed off while gardaí carry out a technical examination.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
