A man in his late 40s has died after being hit by a car in Dublin early this morning.

A man in his late 40s has died after being hit by a car in Dublin early this morning.

The pedestrian was hit by a car on North Street in Swords at around 3.10am this morning.

The driver of the vehicle failed to remain at the scene and Gardaí are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this hit and run incident to contact Swords Garda Station.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Connolly Hospital for a post mortem examination.
