Man dies after Carrauntoohil fall

A man died today after falling more than 200 feet on Carrauntoohil, Ireland’s highest mountain.

A man died today after falling more than 200 feet on Carrauntoohil, Ireland’s highest mountain.

He had been climbing with a group on the 3,414-feet peak, part of the Macgillcuddy Reeks range in Co Kerry.

Kerry Mountain Rescue Team was called to recover the body of the climber, who was in his twenties.

Weather in the area was deplorable, rescue services said.
