A man has been crushed to death by a digger in Dublin.

A man has been crushed to death by a digger in Dublin.

The man died after reportedly being crushed between a heavy digger and a wall around midday in Skerries, north Dublin, the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has said.

It is understood that the man was not involved the construction work that was being undertaken in harbour area where it happened.

Authorities have been notified and an investigation is underway.

Gardaí in Balbriggan are investigating the death.
