Man charged with assault after death in Waterford
A man has been charged with assault causing serious harm today in connection with the death of Joe O'Brien in Waterford on Monday night.
The inquiry was upgraded to murder after a post mortem showed Mr O'Brien died from head injuries.
This afternoon, Pat Keating (aged 47) from Moyne House, Grattan Quay, Waterford, was charged under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Waterford District Court.
Charged Keating will appear before the court again on May 1.
