Gardaí have arrested a man in connection with a fatal road collision in Swords this morning.

Gardaí have arrested a man in connection with a fatal road collision in Swords this morning.

A man in his late 40s, walking in the area, was hit by a vehicle in a hit-and-run collision at about 3.10am in the Co Dublin town. He was pronounced dead at the scene and removed to Connolly Hospital.

This evening, Gardaí reported that they had arrested a 29-year-old man.

Gardaí had earlier appealed for information in tracing the driver of the vehicle.
