Man arrested in connection with ramming of Garda car


A man in his 40s has been arrested in connection with the ramming of a Garda patrol car in Limerick City.

Two female gardaí and a man were injured during the incident, which happened yesterday afternoon in Castletroy.

It is believed that the unmarked Garda Toyota Corolla car was rammed by another car after officers responded to an alert in the area.

The suspect was today arrested at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital and was taken to Henry Street garda station for questioning.

He is being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and can be held for up to 24 hours.
