A man has been arrested as part of a crackdown on Dissident Republicanism in the border regions.

A man has been arrested as part of a crackdown on Dissident Republicanism in the border regions.

Gardaí say the 43-year-old was picked up in the Scotstown area of Monaghan yesterday.

The man was arrested under the provisions of Section 30, Offences Against the State Act, 1939 as amended and is detained at Carrickmacross Garda Station.

Searches and investigations are ongoing.
