A man has been remanded in custody after Revenue officers seized 10,000 cigarettes at Dublin airport yesterday.

A man has been remanded in custody after Revenue officers seized 10,000 cigarettes at Dublin airport yesterday.

The find was made after customs officers discovered The 'L&M' and 'Marlboro Light' cigarettes in a man's luggage. He had arrived on a flight from Moscow.

The cigarettes carried a retail value of €4,850 and a potential loss to the Exchequer of €4,151.

The 28 year-old man was arrested at the scene and he appeared in court this morning.

He's been remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court on Tuesday the 24th of December.
