A 28-year-old man has been arrested after a shooting incident that appeared to target a house in Dublin last night.

A 28-year-old man has been arrested after a shooting incident that appeared to target a house in Dublin last night.

At around 10.30pm, a man was seen discharging a firearm in the direction of the property.

Two people were inside at the time, but no one was injured.

He then left the scene on a bicycle.

A man was stopped by a patrolling gardaí on Sean McDermot Street a short time later and arrested.

A firearm was recovered close to where the arrest was made, during a follow-up search.

The arrested man is being held at Store Street Garda Station and the scene at Beaver Street is being preserved for technical examination.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to the incident to contact Store Street Garda Station on 01 6668000, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
