Revenue officers have seized cigarettes worth almost €15,000 at Dublin Airport.

A 35-year-old Moldovan man was arrested with two suitcases loaded with 28,000 Marlboro Gold cigarettes.

He arrived on a flight from Moldova via Frankfurt with the contraband last Saturday.

The man appeared in the Criminal Courts of Justice today and was remanded in custody at Clover Hill prison until Wednesday, January 6.
