Gardaí have arrested a man in his 20s following a drug seizure in Co Wexford.

The drugs were found this afternoon when gardaí searched a house in Ballylane East in New Ross.

They entered the property on foot of a warrant and discovered cannabis plants growing in a bedroom and in a green house at the rear of the house.

The plants have an estimated street value of €24,000.

A 26-year-old local man was arrested at the scene and taken to New Ross Garda Station for questioning.

He can be held for up to seven days under the provisions of the Drug Trafficking Act.
