Man airlifted to hospital from Galway fishing vessel


A man has been airlifted to hospital - after becoming ill while on board a fishing vessel.

The alarm was raised this afternoon - when a man on a small boat off the coast of Spiddal in Galway - began suffering with chest pains.

The Galway lifeboat came to the man's aid and the coastguard helicopter airlifted him to University College Hospital Galway.

His condition is unknown.
