Major increase in FSA closure orders
There was a dramatic increase in the number of enforcement orders issued by the Food Safety Authority last month.
There were 13 orders issued in total with 12 of them closure orders and the other a a prohibition order.
The figures made July one of the highest months in a decade for Enforcement Orders issued.
The FSAI has described the figures as disappointing - saying they are a stark reminder that some food business operators continue to put consumers’ health at risk.
