Madden: Letter fails to address protection of priests
20/03/2010 - 12:04:45Abuse survivor Andrew Madden has said today's pastoral letter from Pope Benedict fails to address the issues raised by him and others in an open letter to the Pope last month.
Mr Madden has spoken publicly about the abuse he suffered as a child in the Dublin Archdiocese.
In a statement this morning, he said there had been no acknowledgement of the Catholic Church’s part in causing the sexual abuse of so many children by protecting paedophile priests.
Victim advocacy group One in Four are to outline their reaction to the pastoral letter within the next hour.
