Lynch: Children's referendum 'not a foregone conclusion'17/10/2012 - 14:25:16
The Labour Party has said the Children's Rights Referendum is designed to ensure the voices of young people in Ireland are heard.
The party today launched its campaign for a 'Yes' vote on Saturday, November 10.
Labour said the referendum is driven by bitter lessons of the past, as some of the darkest moments in our history are as a consequence of children's rights being ignored.
The party's Director of Elections, Junior Health Minister Kathleen Lynch, said the outcome is not a foregone conclusion.
Ms Lynch said: "It is not a foregone conclusion, no referendum ever is.
"There are people that will take the opposing view and we really need to get the message out there that people need to get out and vote in this referendum and vote yes."
