Lynch accuses Fianna Fail of hypocrisy

Labour's Kathleen Lynch has accused Fianna Fail of hypocrisy and of using the Magdalene Laundries report to score political points.

The Junior Minister was speaking during a Dáil debate of a Fianna Fail motion calling on the government to apologise immediately to the Magdalene survivors.

Fianna Fail has said that the Taoiseach should have apologised when the report was published last week and that his failure to do so only added to the pain.

The Dáil is due to debate the report next week - and Enda Kenny has indicated that he will issue a formal apology then.

Responding to criticism of the government, Minister Kathleen Lynch said she found the Fianna Fail's hypocrisy "galling"
