Luas bosses 'to install CCTV to catch motorists breaking red lights'

New cameras to catch drivers who break red lights at Luas junctions in Dublin are reported to be on the way.

A trial of the system has been in place at some points in the capital, particularly on the Red Line which crosses more streets.

According to The Irish Times, any footage of motorists breaking lights will then be assessed by the Gardaí to see if penalty points should be imposed.

The Department of Transport say the scheme will go citywide by the end of the year.
