Lowry refuses to stand down after Dáil censure

A motion to censure calling for the resignation of Michael Lowry been passed without a vote in the Dáil today.

Independent TD for Tipperary North responded: "I am not a criminal."

He reiterated that he will not resign and has again lashed out at the Moriarty Tribunal report, saying it is flawed and not grounded in fact.

The former Minister pleaded with the Tánaiste to ensure any Garda inquiry is dealt with expeditiously and that the scrutiny of him is brought to an end.

He also said that he would not take a lecture from Sinn Féin, given their past associations with "atrocities, mutilation, murder on civilians and unarmed gardaí".
