Louth stabbing victim named

The man who was killed in a knife attack in Co Louth last night, has been named locally as Wayne McQuillan.

A 40 year-old woman remains in Garda custody tonight in connection with his murder.

30 year-old Wayne McQuillan was found with stab wounds in the front garden of a house at Marian Park in Drogheda, at a 1.45am.

He was rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, where he was later pronounced dead.

A post mortem was carried out on the victim's body earlier and having considered the results, Gardaí have now upgraded the investigation to murder.

A 40 year-old woman was arrested this morning at Rathmullen Park in Drogheda, in connection with the killing.
