Motorists are being advised to drive with care this morning following heavy rainfall in some parts over night, but Met Éireann has lifted a weather warning which was in place until early today.
Today will be a bright day with sunny spells and showers. The showers will mainly affect coastal areas of the southwest, south and east. Some will be heavy with a risk of thunder.
Drivers are being warned of poor driving conditions and excess surface water, particularly in parts of Dublin, Wicklow, Wexford and Waterford.
Brian Farrell of the Road Safety Authority said: "We would renew our appeal...to be more careful, and take greater responsibility for our actions when using the roads and remember that using the roads is the most dangerous thing that we do every day."
Tomorrow is World Remembrance Day for road traffic victims.
