Lorry driver killed in Cavan crash

A lorry driver was killed today when the articulated truck he was driving collided with a ditch.

A lorry driver was killed today when the articulated truck he was driving collided with a ditch.

Gardaí in Cavan are appealing for witnesses to the collision at Drummora, Crossdoney, Co Cavan.

No other vehciles were involved.

Gardaí said that about 9.20am this morning, the articulated lorry left the road on the R199 Crossdoney to Killeshandra Road and collided with a ditch.

The driver, a man in his late 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Forensic collision investigators are in attendance, the road is closed and traffic diversions are in place.
