Longboat Quay residents should not be forced to pay for remedial works, votes Council
Dublin City Council has passed an emergency motion to support Longboat Quay residents' bid not to be forced to pay for remedial works at the complex.
Last week, 900 residents were told they would be facing evacuation from the docklands apartments over fire safety concerns.
The cost of remedial works has been estimated at €4.75m, with €2m still to be financed by management and the apartment owners.
The Council's decision will not have any legal effect, but Sinn Féin Councillor Chris Andrews said it would help keep up the pressure to help residents with the cost burden.
