Former Taoiseach Brian Cowen is giving evidence to the Banking Inquiry today.
He will give two days of evidence - beginning with a discussion about his time as Minister for Finance.
When Charlie McCreevy was giving evidence to the Banking Inquiry yesterday, he insisted that his Governments were the most financially responsible in the history of the State.
Today the inquiry will speak to his successor Brian Cowen, to find out what happened to see the State fall into such financial panic.
His tenure as Minister for Finance which will be subject to scrutiny today - with seven hours of questioning on his relationship with banks and financial regulators, and how aware he was of the banking crisis as it emerged.
Mr Cowen is due back in again next Wednesday, when be asked about his performance as Taoiseach, and the rationale for pushing the blanket bank guarantee.
