Graham Dwyer's girlfriend said today that she is pulling back from the relationship, but hasn't told him because she doesn't want to "hurt his feelings".

Speaking to the Opinion Line on Cork radio station 96FM, Victoria Andreenkova said she felt "very hurt by everything".

"For the moment, I have put it aside because I want some time for myself to think about the whole scenario around Graham Dwyer," she said.

Asked if they have broken up, she responded: "No, no, not really broken up but I think it's better for us both to leave each other alone for the moment."

"I never have met [his] family," she added later.

"Normally if you have a relationship with somebody they are introduced to family members and stuff like that, but that did not happen in this instance.

"So I do feel a bit left out of the whole thing, and I don't know... I feel very hurt by everything."

She also blamed "media attention" for her decision to take a break in the relationship.

"The journalists are on my Twitter, on my Facebook and everywhere so I have to remove them from my friends list, and then they come back," she said.

"It does put a strain on me in my personal life."

Last month, she told Niall Boylan on Classic Hits 4FM that the couple "love each other very much" and that she would trust Dwyer, "a very, very kind human being", with her life.

When asked by 96FM today if she still loved Dwyer, she responded: "That's a hard question because we didn't see each other for a few weeks.

"The spark is a bit off actually, and I don't know how we should progress further with this."

Asked how Dwyer felt about this, she admitted: "I haven't really told him that because I don't want to hurt his feelings."

She also said that she did not follow his trial where Dwyer was convicted for the murder of Elaine O'Hara.

"To be honest, I have an open mind on that one because I haven't actually followed the trial because his own barrister has asked the judge to remove me from the court proceedings," she said.

Asked how she met Dwyer, she replied: "I'd like to keep that to myself" - but denied that she met him online.

She also revealed that he was attacked in jail whilst "playing poker in the recreation room with other inmates".

She said that as far as she understands, his injuries are not serious.

She has been banned from visiting Dwyer, but said that media reports claiming that this was because of her choice of clothing were untrue.

"I don't even have one piece of leather items in my home," she said.
