In the North, a number of roads have been closed in Lisburn, southwest of Belfast, after a suspicious device was found on waste ground.

In the North, a number of roads have been closed in Lisburn, southwest of Belfast, after a suspicious device was found on waste ground.

Officers in Lisburn have cordoned off an area around Tata Steel works as the army bomb disposal team exam the object.

Motorists have been asked to avoid the area.

UPDATE: Police have recovered a quantity of suspected ammunition, which has been taken away for forensic tests.

Surrounding roads have been re-opened.
