Liquid restrictions at EU airports are being eased gradually.

But passengers are being advised they still have to observe the current 100 ml rule for carry-on luggage.

From today, airports will be obliged to screen certain liquids at passenger security checkpoints - with minimal disruption to passengers.

It's seen as a first step towards the removal of all liquid restrictions at EU airports by 2016.
