Limerick gardaí upgrade cold case to murder21/09/2012 - 14:47:12
The suspicious death of a Limerick pensioner three years ago has been upgraded to murder.
The body of 92-year-old James Mulqueen from Kilmakeera, Kilcolman, Co Limerick, was found at his home on October 23, 2009.
There was no forced entry to the house where he lived alone and, a post mortem at the time, found he had a number of broken bones.
Following a review by the garda cold case unit the investigation has been upgraded to murder.
A reconstruction surrounding Mr Mulqueen's death will be aired on the RTÉ's 'Crimecall' programme next Tuesday at 9.35pm.
Gardaí at Askeaton are appealing for anyone with infomration to contact them in confidence on 061 - 601 630.
