Gardaí in Limerick have attended the scene of a suspect device at the rear of a house.

Gardaí in Limerick have attended the scene of a suspect device at the rear of a house.

It was discovered in the back garden of a home on East Singland Road in Garryowen earlier today.

Gardaí have confirmed that it was an old civil war mine and was not a viable explosive device.

The scene has now been cleared.
