Liffey's new Rosie Hackett Bridge to open this summer
The new bridge over the River Liffey in Dublin is being opened this summer, and will be the first called after a woman.
Dublin's Lord Mayor Oisin Quinn tweeted this afternoon that he will open the Rosie Hackett bridge on May 20.

The new bridge is primarily being built to carry the cross-city Luas line, but is also expected to cater for other public transport and pedestrians.
The opening is scheduled for three days before voting in the local and European elections.
Lord Mayor Quinn said Rosie Hackett, a worker in the Jacobs factory in 1913, led one of the group of strikers in the Lockout.
