A Galway lifeboat has rescued two men whose powerboat broke down in Galway Bay this afternoon.

A Galway lifeboat has rescued two men whose powerboat broke down in Galway Bay this afternoon.

They were found drifting close to rocks after their 19-foot vessel suffered mechanical failure south of New Harbour, at about 1.15pm this afternoon.

The two men immediately raised the alarm and the Irish Coastguard Rescue Helicopter and the RNLI Lifeboat arrived within minutes.
