Libertas launches as a political party in the UK
The anti-Lisbon Treaty group Libertas has launched itself as a political party in the UK.
The party has said it will run candidates there in the European Parliament elections on June 4, as well as elsewhere in the EU.
Party chairman Declan Ganley said the Euro-election would provide British voters with, what he called, their last and best chance to send out a message that they did not support the Lisbon Treaty.
The treaty cannot enter into force until it has been approved by Irish voters.
A former soldier Robin Matthews has been named as the leader of Libertas UK.
