Lenihan rejects criticism of new Immigration Bill

Junior Minister, Conor Lenihan who has responsibility for integration has rejected claims that the Government's new immigration legislation is leaving some migrants confused over their residency rights.

Junior Minister, Conor Lenihan who has responsibility for integration has rejected claims that the Government's new immigration legislation is leaving some migrants confused over their residency rights.

The Immigrant Council of Ireland claims the Government is sending mixed messages on some department websites regarding the amount of time needed to secure residency here.

However, speaking in Dublin at an event to mark the Chinese New Year, Conor Lenihan insisted there was no confusion on the issue.
