Lawyer appointed to Competition Authority helm
27/01/2006 - 11:52:05The Minister for Enterprise, Trade & Employment Micheál Martin has announced the appointment of William J. Prasifka as chairperson of the Competition Authority.
Mr Prasifka, who will take up the position at the end of March, is a graduate of Columbia University School of Law and previously worked as the Irish Commissioner for Aviation Regulation. He was also a former member of the Irish Competition Authority.
Prior to these appointments Mr Prasifka was in private practice, first in New York and then in Dublin, advising in the areas of Irish, European and American competition law.
