A Senator caught up in a protest outside Leinster House has said that yesterday's scenes were unacceptable.

The sit-down protest over water charges and the situation in Greece caused rush-hour traffic delays in the Kildare Street area.
"I understand that they have a right to believe in what they do, as long as its done democratically," said Senator Denis Landy.
"But when we reduce ourselves to this, where members of the parliament can't go in and out of work, and go about the business that they have to do, it's not acceptable."
