Landslide forces bus transfers at Waterford station

Irish Rail says bus transfers will remain in place on a number of services from Waterford station for the coming days, following a landslide.

It happened yesterday evening on the line close to Waterford Station. As a result, there's no services operating between Waterford and Thomastown and Carrick-on-Suir.

The landslide was from the rock face just outside the station, which scattered debris across the track.

A spokesperson for Irish Rail said the debris had been cleared, but the remaining rock face had to be assessed for safety.

As a result, bus transfers are in place between Waterford and Kilkenny and Waterford and Carrick-on-Suir for a number of days.
